First Make-Up Blog :)

Ok this is a total disclaimer right here: I am not a make-up junkie nor do I think I am even good at doing make-up.  I have worn the same brand of mascara, eyeliner, powder for about 10 years...but I have really been trying to branch out with my make-up and try new things. When I post things about make-up it will be strictly personal preferences and tips that have worked for ME!

Also, I am super cheap and simple when it comes to buying and using make up. Most of my make up can be picked up from Target, CVS, or Walgreens and like I said, I have been wearing the same brand of eyeliner, mascara, and powder for over 10 years! However, my sister and fellow blogger, (http://adecisionmaker.co ...check her out), is THE make-up queen. She loves to make me over and use all of her expensive products! I also benefit from the fact that she will give me all of her make-up hand-me-downs. :) That is the only reason I have products from NARS or Sephora, etc.

So, the other day, I was bored and doing my make-up. I took my usual 5-10 minute make up routine and decided to go a little bolder. The look turned out really great, especially as kind of a darker-fall look. I took a picture, wanted to brag about some of my favorite, CHEAP products that I used, and people really seemed to like the idea of me showing off my make-up. The people commenting were my friends, however a few of them wanted to know about specific products that I used. I even had a request to do a liquid eyeliner tutorial video! :) I will for SURE be trying to do a video of my eyeliner because I am obsessed with it! AND it has taken me years to finally get a look that I love with it.

ANYWAY, here is a few different pictures of the look.

Showing off the lip and eyes!

                      Showing off the highlighter!

AND, here are the products I used to get the look.

****I love MOSTLY all matte products, I'm usually not into the shimmery looks. I do not use primer or liquid concealers on my face... :/ Just haven't gotten into that yet. I am a beginner make-up enthusiast!****

1st Step: Eyeshadow, L'OREAL HiP Eye Shadow - Amazing for my coloring (hair/skin/eyes). I swear putting on this brown eye shadow makes me look tanner! The light color,  I use for clean up and right underneath my eyebrows. I only put the brown on the crease of my eyelid.

2nd Step: Liquid Eyeliner, Maybelline Ultra Liner. One of my favorite products EVER! Easy to apply, does not smudge, peels right off when washed in the shower, and stays on all day! The applicator is a tiny brush. I simply paint a thin line directly above my top eyelash line. I love to add a mini-wing, the angle and length of the wing can totally make a look more bold and make the eyes pop.

3rd Step: Revlon Colorstay Liquid Eye Pen.  This pen is a little smudgy but it really helps me extend my liner into the inner corner of my eye. With the felt pen you can be super precise, I use it as kind of my corrector pen.

4th Step: Covergirl Mascara. I have always been obsessed with my eyelashes and mascara. I love trying any and all mascaras, but I always seem to come back to my Covergirl mascara routine. I have all of the various types of Covergirl mascaras and I kind of just rotate them as I do different coats of the mascara. The three I have photographed are my all time favorites. The mascaras with the curved applicator seem to always be a favorite of mine. I like to use a few different Covergirl mascaras when doing my make up because I find that some lengthen better than others, some are better for thickening, and some are great at separating the lashes at the end of the make-up routine.

5th Step: Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer in Ivory. I just bought this because I wanted to try highlighting/contouring with it. I like super simple and quick products and I really don't like to put liquidy products on my face but I had heard good things about this highlighting concealer. I put this concealer on my forehead in-between my eyebrows, a straight line down the middle of my nose, and underneath my eyes.

6th Step: Neutrogena Mineral Sheers Powder Foundation in Tan. I have used this product FOREVER. I just use a make-up brush and brush it all over my face. It gives me a little tan and just evens out the color in my face. I have sensitive skin and cannot stand when I feel like make-up is clogging my pores, this powder foundation feels super light on my skin!

7th Step: Too Faced Bronzer. Love, love, love this bronzer. Totally matte, no sparkles, just makes me look tan! :) It smells like chocolate, too! Now this bronzer is the first product I've mentioned that you cannot buy at Target/CVS/Walgreens. I get this Too Faced product at Sephora, it is kind of expensive but worth every penny. I really use this bronzer to contour my face. When using the bronzer, I like to focus on the area right underneath my cheekbones and right on my hairline. When doing my make-up on this day, I also put a little bronzer on both sides of my nose.

8th Step: Nars Bronzer and Blush Combo. in Sin and Casino.  I actually have not used this bronzer since I switched over to the Too Faced Bronzer. I felt like it didn't go on as smoothly as the Too Faced and it had too much glitter and sparkle. I have been loving the blush (Sin) very minimally just on the apples of my cheeks.

9th Step: Buxom in Lip Pencil in Brooklyn AND Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Mauvy Night
So, I have never used these two products together! I originally was trying out the Revlon Lipstick, Mauvy Night color because I was going for a more darker/fall make-up look. I do love the lipstick on its own, its really pretty. The Buxom lip pencil is one of my favorite lip pencils. It kind of has a tingly sensation when you put it on and can be a super bold lip-look or very subtle depending on how many layers are added. ~ The combination of the two colors turned out amazing! I usually don't like to hassle with two lip products but it was worth it! :)

This blog was wayyyyyyyy too long! I am really starting to see why VLOGs might be the way to go when doing beauty blogs! :) I have been asked to do a beauty-VLOG showing my eyeliner process, which I am planning on doing ASAP. I have also ordered the Younique Moonstruck 3D Fiber Lashes that I am super excited to try-out and review as a beauty blog!

Thanks for reading!
